Reception is the Zambian equivalent of Kindergarten. We currently have fifteen students between the ages of four and six in our reception class. As most of the students only know Bemba, the local language, the class is taught both in Bemba and English. The emphases of the reception class are

The Grade One class is full of life and energy! Half of the class were in the Reception class at KCS last year, while the other half are brand-new students from the communities surrounding Kafakumba. They all love learning, whether the lesson is about traditions around the world or counting by 5! |

The Grade Two class love their school, especially their new classroom! Eight of the fifteen students have been at the school since it first opened its doors as a preschool. Since then, they've grown a lot, learned a lot, and have been loved a lot. This year they have been discovering a new-found love of reading! |
